Industrial box-PC to speed up AI deployment

Advantech has released epC-R7200, an industrial-grade box-PC compatible with NVIDIA's Jetson. Its many features make it an ideal choice for edge AI applications in different industries. The device is designed with an ultra-compact shape (152mm x 137mm x 42mm; 5.9 "x 5.3" x 1.6 "). The Box-PC is designed for AI developers using NVIDIA's Jetson family of modules, including The Jetson Xavier NX, Jetson TX2 NX, and Jetson Nano.

As a complete industrial-grade system, its high-quality aluminum housing offers state-of-the-art safety and protection with improved heat dissipation and ESD protection. In addition, its thermal solutions adapt to modular and modular specific heat dissipation. The industrial-grade Box PC comes with a carrier board that is fully compatible with all three types of Jetson modules in shape and pin configuration.

The NVIDIA Jetson module runs with the NVIDIA JetPack SDK. JetPack includes the Jetson Linux Driver pack (L4T) with the Ubuntu Linux operating system and CUDA-X. These solutions help accelerate the development of artificial intelligence. The device is fully compatible with the NVIDIA SDK and supports AI. It also allows AI developers to automatically drive I/ O without further driver installation or feature configuration Settings. 

The company's EPC-R7200 supports a wide range of operating temperatures, power inputs, and high vibration resistance (-40-85 ° C /-40-185F; 9-24VDC; 3 g). Similarly, it transforms the Jetson home module into an edge AI system. Also features 1 x HDMI 2.0 port 4 K resolution display, on 2 x GbE LAN connection,2 x USB 3.2 Gen 1 port and 2 x M.2 slots for wireless modules (1 E x 2230 keys,1 x 3042 key B). Using the UIO40-Express mechanical design, the carrier board utilizes an application-oriented I/O expansion board to increase capacity.

It allows developers to select I/O expansion boards, such as the M.2 2280 Key M slot, for additional storage by connecting NVMe SSDS, serial ports (RS-232, RS-485), standalone DI/DOs, USB 2.0, and 4-port GbE Ethernet hubs. In addition, the company's AIM-Linux software service offers uIO40-Express peripheral drivers for NVIDIA JetPack SDK 4.5.1. This eliminates the need for additional integration of the UIO40-Express functionality.
